Hello from the beautiful Hynes Convention enter in Boston, where setup is well underway for PCMA Convening Leaders 2014! It’s shaping up to be a great meeting, and Convene will be a part of it. Here’s what we’ll be up to and where you can find us:
Convene Live Presents: For the second year in a row, we’ve worked with PCMA’s Education team to create a block of programming powered by Convene articles, ideas, and editors. There are four education sessions based directly on our stories: “eRFPs: Is That All There Is?” (Monday, 10:30 a.m.), based on this article, and moderated by yours truly; “Crisis Management: The Boston Marathon Case Study” (Monday, 1:15 p.m.), based on this article; “Into the Heart of Meetings” (Tuesday, 1:30 p.m.), based on this book excerpt; and “Do More Good: Rethinking Our Community Service Projects” (Wednesday, 10:30 a.m.), based on this article.
Plus, you’ll find us on the Illuminations Stage in Learning Lounge 2.o, where Senior Editor Barbara Palmer will interview Opening General Session speaker Lisa Bodell (Monday, 10:30 a.m.) and Editor in Chief Michelle Russell interviewing Masters Series speaker Hilary Mason (Monday, 1:15 p.m.).
PCMA Daily: We supervise production of the PCMA Daily conference newspaper, working with Ascend Integrated Media to publish three issues during the course of Convening Leaders. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning you’ll find a new issue available at your PCMA hotel, around the Hynes, and also online.
Convene Club: You’ll find our directors of business development in the Convene Club, where our advertisers and partners can unwind, recharge, plug in, meet, network, and do pretty much whatever else they’d like.
Backchannel: Our editorial team will also be providing social-media support for a handful of sessions, and generally attending as much programming as we can, and tweeting and blogging about it. So keep watching this space!
